The New Constitution of Bharat (Proposed)
The purpose of this book is to create awareness among citizens about their rights, duties, and responsibilities towards the nation through a proposed simplified Constitution of Bharat. The draft seeks to present the fundamental principles of governance in just 15 Articles, compared to the 395 Articles of the present Constitution, making them easier to understand and apply.
The book further proposes that a simple and concise Constitution can serve as a guiding framework for drafting clearer laws, procedures, rules, and regulations that are practical, transparent, and accessible to every citizen.
The author believes that many aspects of our legal and administrative system continue to reflect colonial-era practices and mindsets. Building systems that are better suited to Bharat’s present and future needs requires meaningful public participation, fresh thinking, and innovative ideas. To encourage constructive discussion, the book highlights a few important national issues thru 15 odd chapters and presents alternative approaches for consideration. Citizens, professionals, scholars, and policymakers are invited to participate in this initiative by sharing their views, suggestions, and feedback.
