भारतीय कला एवं संस्कृति : विविध आयाम – प्रकृति को समस्त कलाओं की जननी माना गया है। प्रकृति की छटा देखकर और उसकी सृष्टि के रहस्यों को समझकर ही मानव कलाकार अपनी कला को प्रस्तुत करने के लिए प्रेरित हुआ है। समस्त मानवीय क्रियाएँ, ज्ञान-विज्ञान और कलाएँ इसी प्रकृति के सृष्टिकारक रहस्यों को समझने, उनका उपभोग करने और उन्हीं के आधार पर पुनः सृष्टि करने में ही प्रस्फुटित हुई हैं। प्रकृति के मूल में जो सृष्टिकारक शक्ति है वही मानव को आकृष्ट कर उसे भी सृजन-निमित्त प्रेरणा प्रदान करती है। मनुष्य ने आदि सृष्टि-कारक ब्रह्म की कल्पना की। कालान्तर में यही, ब्रह्म प्राप्ति एवं कला का लक्ष्य भी बनी। प्रकृति के रहस्यमय स्वरूप के कारण उसके अनेक प्रतीकात्मक अंकन हुए। संस्कृति जीवन को परिष्कृत करने की एक प्रक्रिया है। यह व्यक्ति के आचरण में निहित होती है। संस्कृति एक गत्यात्मक तथ्य है जो अपनी परम्परा की पृष्ठभूमि में विकसित होती है और युग और उसकी चेतना के अनुसार अपने स्वरूप को परिवर्तित करती है। भारतीय संस्कृति का शान्ति, अहिंसा एवं विश्व-बन्धुत्व का आदर्श आज युद्ध की विभिषिका से त्रस्त मानव के लिए आशा की एक किरण है। ऐसी परिस्थिति में इस महान् संस्कृति के स्वरूप और गौरवपूर्ण योगदान को भली प्रकार समझना नितान्त आवश्यक है। इसी उद्देश्य को लेकर लेखिका ने समय-समय पर अनेक संगोष्ठियों में भाग लेकर कला एवं संस्कृति के विविध आयामों पर शोध-पत्र वाचन किए, जो राष्ट्रीय-अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय पत्र-पत्रिकाओं एवं पुस्तकों में प्रकाशित हुए हैं। ग्रन्थकार ने यथास्थान चित्रों द्वारा विषय को अधिक सुबोध, रोचक एवं उपयोगी बनाने की चेष्टा की है। पारिभाषिक शब्दों के देवनागरी रूपान्तर द्वारा विषय को अधिकाधिक बोधगम्य बनाने का भी प्रयास किया गया है।

Indian Art and Culture: Diverse Dimensions – Nature has been considered the mother of all arts. Seeing the beauty of nature and understanding the mysteries of its creation, the human artist is inspired to present his art. All human activities, knowledge, and arts have emerged in understanding, consuming, and re-creating the creative secrets of this nature. The creative power that is at the root of nature attracts the human being and also provides inspiration for creation. Man conceived the initial creation-causative Brahman. Later, it became the goal of the attainment of Brahm and art. The mysterious nature of nature led to its many symbolic notations. Culture is a process of refining life. It is inherent in the conduct of the person. Culture is a dynamic fact that develops in the background of its tradition and changes its form according to the era and its consciousness. The ideals of peace, non-violence, and global brotherhood of Indian culture are today a ray of hope for a man stricken by the arrogance of war. Under such circumstances, it is absolutely necessary to fully understand the nature and glorious contribution of this great culture. For this purpose, the writer participated in many seminars and read research papers on various aspects of art and culture from time to time, which have been published in national and international journals and books. The author has tried to make the subject more comprehensible, interesting, and useful by in-place pictures. There has also been an attempt to make the subject more comprehensible by the Devanagari version of technical terms.
