RG Folk Literature

The folk literature of Rajasthan is rich, varied, and lively. The folk literature comprises the folk songs or Lok Geet; ballads or Lok Gatha; folktales or Lok Katha; folk plays or Lok Natyas and Lok Subhasit that include proverbs, sayings, and idioms. Amongst these, the folk songs of Rajasthan are quite popular. These are regarded as the natural expression of human emotions. Songs relating to rituals, worship, Jagran, etc are religious, as distinct from those pertaining to particular occasions, events, and other aspects of human life. Apart from folk songs, there are other forms of folk literature in Rajasthan too.
राजस्थान का लोक साहित्य समृद्ध, विविध और जीवंत है। लोक साहित्य में लोक गीत या लोक गीत शामिल हैं; गाथागीत या लोक गाथा; लोककथाएँ या लोक कथा; लोक नाटक या लोक नाट्य और लोक उपशीत जिसमें नीतिवचन, कहावतें, और मुहावरे शामिल हैं। इनमें राजस्थान के लोक गीत काफी लोकप्रिय हैं। इन्हें मानवीय भावनाओं की स्वाभाविक अभिव्यक्ति माना जाता है। अनुष्ठान, पूजा, जागरण आदि से संबंधित गीत धार्मिक हैं, जो विशेष अवसरों, घटनाओं और मानव जीवन के अन्य पहलुओं से संबंधित हैं। लोक गीतों के अलावा राजस्थान में लोक साहित्य के अन्य रूप भी हैं।
